The Morton Salt Sales and Marketing division works with each of the three product areas:

Consumer – Our Marketing and Brand Management staff manage the selling of branded products to our retail accounts with pricing strategies, product line management, forecasting, analysis and budgeting, brand promotion, advertising, product development, and licensing.

Industrial – The Sales and Marketing personnel are responsible for pricing strategy, product line management, forecasting, and analysis and budgeting.

Ice Control – A significant portion of Morton’s Ice Control business is tied to bid tenders. The Ice Control Sales and Marketing segment is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the customer, pricing strategy, forecasting, and analysis and budgeting.

The Research and Development (R&D) works with various departments within Morton Salt to:

• Generate new or improved products

• Provide innovative solutions to production problems

• Improve the efficiency of salt operations

• Provide technical aid to industrial customers
Morton Salt produces three categories of products:

Consumer Products: Table & Specialty Food Salts, Water Softening & Ice Melt Products.


Industrial Products: Evaporated Rock & Solar Salt products used for food, pharmaceuticals, and chemical grade salt.

Ice Control Products: Rock Salt stored in stockpiles used for roadway maintenance.
